HP labs have found MEMRISTOR (memory plus resistor), the fourth element of electric circuit after inductor,
capacitor and resistor in 2008 which was theoretically since 1971 when professor of University of California at Berkeley, Mr. Leon Chua came with this concept. Mr. Leon called them MEMRISTOR because they possess the combine properties of a MEMory element and a Resistor. They are capable of retaining of memory of the charge flowed through them when the power is turned OFF and the resistance depends on the voltage levels history. IN 2008 when HP comes up with this MEMRISTOR, this was claimed that computers are going to be faster as the memory will become fast through these MEMRISTORS.

Vishal Higher Capacity Transmission is Possible on Fiber Optic Cable
April 7th, 2010
Vishal As the modern world is becoming digitized day by day and we are getting closer by the internet and other facilities, the
pressure for high capacity links is increasing day by day. NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp) have made it experimentally possible to send 69.1 terabits per sec, over an optical fiber cable which is 240 Km long. The NTT made it possible by using WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) the most prominently used for increasing the fiber capacity in optical fibers.
